Another Big Second Period Lifts Xpress

Four second-period goals and a 39-save performance by Ryan Pascarella were the keys to a 4-1 Southern Tier Xpress victory over Toledo at Northwest Arena in NA3HL action Saturday night.

The win puts the Xpress at 6-6 on the year, good for fourth place in the East Division behind Wooster, Pittsburgh and Metro.

Stuart Pearson was named the night’s first star thanks to a pair of goals with Mickenzie Restle and Michael Keller earning the other two Southern Tier tallies. Keller would also end the evening with an assist while Harry Payne and Calvin Tonzi were also credited with helpers.

Ricardo Gonzalez led Toledo between the pipes with 32 saves.

Southern Tier will look to move above .500 this Friday as they host first-place Metro at Northwest Arena at 7 p.m.
