Cleveland downs Southern Tier in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks\’ John Barlow scored 3:59 into overtime to beat the Southern Tier Xpress, 3-2 (OT).

Cleveland was paced by Barlow, who racked up one goal.

The Jr. Lumberjacks\’ penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Southern Tier power plays.

Others who scored for Cleveland included Ryker Barber and Tyler Houmard, who scored one goal each. More assists for Cleveland came via Buddy Rose and Tyler Dalton, who each chipped in one.

Southern Tier stifled Cleveland\’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Xpress forced the Jr. Lumberjacks goalie Alec Rounds to work between the pipes, taking 47 shots.

Southern Tier was led by Cody Maulsby, who finished with one goal and one assist. Maulsby scored 4:07 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Southern Tier. Niko Greco provided the assist. Southern Tier also got a goal from Justin Andriaccio as well. Other players who recorded assists for Southern Tier were Brandon Desrosiers, who had one.

Cleveland\’s Rounds stopped 45 shots out of the 47 that he faced. The Jr. Lumberjacks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Cody Gibson rejected 24 shots on goal for the Xpress. Southern Tier ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major.
