Stuart Pearson chipped in with 2 goals and Luke Macleod did his part, adding 2 goals. Blake Mullins contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Anthony Weinrich delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).
During the first period, Mullins opened the scoring for Toledo with a goal at 16:31 with helpers from his teammates Snyder and Papaioannou.
In the second, Restle answered for Southern Tier with a goal at 3:44 with a helper from defenseman Rickabaugh. Pearson quickly followed with a goal at 4:19 with assists from Ogeka and Wilcox. Macleod netted a goal at 8:35 with a helper from defenseman Allen. Weinrich answered for the Cherokee with a goal at 15:18 with assists from Mullins and Cummings. Macleod answered for the Xpress with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 17:24 with a helper from his linemate Muecke.
In the third, Keller deposited a goal at 5:58 with an assist from Lamison. Pearson put in a goal at 8:04. Gilbert answered for the Cherokee with a goal at 12:03 with helpers from his linemates, Weinrich and Snyder.
Southern Tier’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Pascarella’s big night as he stopped 35 of the 38 shots he faced. Pascarella’s counterpart, Brouillette, also had a big night, managing to stop 20 of 23, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Southern Tier Xpress’ record to (5-6-0-0).
