Wooster beats Southern Tier 2-1 after comeback scare

Southern Tier tried to dig itself out of a two-goal hole, but Wooster held on for a 2-1 victory.

A goal by Will Schober put Wooster up 2-0 in the first period, but Southern Tier pulled to within one on Hunter Kepple\’s tally 9:47 into the third period.

Schober was all over the ice for Wooster, as he had two goals in the win.

Wooster\’s penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Southern Tier power plays.

Other players who recorded assists for Wooster were Tyler Groth, Zach Bilius, and Mike Ragone, who contributed one each.

Southern Tier kept Wooster\’s goalie busy throughout the game, and Joe Morgan made 33 saves on 34 shots. Southern Tier could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 20 minutes in penalties during the game.

In addition, Southern Tier received assists from Chris Hubbard, who had one.

Wooster incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Ryan Pascarella rejected 26 shots on goal for Southern Tier.
