Wooster outlasts Southern Tier, 4-2

Wooster and Southern Tier were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Wooster made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

Wooster gained the winning advantage on a goal by Noah Keener 19:14 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Wooster was sparked by Keener, who finished with one goal.

Wooster kept Southern Tier\’s goalie busy throughout the game, and Ryan Pascarella made 35 saves on 39 shots.

Wooster also had goals scored by Brad Sneed, Mike Zenone, and Tyler Houmard, who scored one goal each. In addition, Wooster received assists from Nick Tobey, who had two and Nick Mooney and Christian Miller, who each chipped in one.

Southern Tier was helped by Jacob St. Andre, who racked up one goal. St. Andre scored on the power play 11:28 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Southern Tier had gotten the advantage when Wooster\’s Andy Romani was sent off for hooking. Devin Laird picked up the assist. Southern Tier also got a goal from Brad Delenko as well. More assists for Southern Tier came via Joshua Malin and Hunter Kepple, who contributed one each.

Joe Morgan made 16 saves for Wooster on 18 shots. Wooster incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Southern Tier incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
