The Southern Tier Xpress split a pair of North American Tier III Hockey League road games over the weekend.

On Friday, the Xpress used a goal by Stuart Pearson at the 1:37 mark of overtime to post a 6-5 victory over Toledo at the Toledo Ice House. The game winner was set up via assists from Ty Rickabaugh and Joey Gerace.

Pearson finished with two goals, while Gerace, Mickenzie Restle, Nic Allen and Brian Grant also found the back of the net. Gerace finished with three assists for the winners and Michael Lamison added two.

Ryan Pascarella was the winning goalie, stopping 33 shots.

Twenty-four hours later, the Xpress weren’t as fortunate as they fell to the Metro Jets, 9-1, at Fraser Hockeyland.

Meanwhile, the Jets, who peppered Xpress keeper Brandon Heacock with 60 shots, scored one goal in the first period, three in the second and five in the third.
