Six different players scored goals as the Southern Tier Xpress downed the Wausau River Wolves, 6-2, in the North American Tier III Hockey League Showcase Tournament on Monday.
Harry Payne, Ty Rickabaugh, Joey Gerace, Mickenzie Restle, Nick Wilcox and Reginald Hunter scored the goals for the Xpress, who have won two straight and will play the Wisconsin Mallers at 11:45 this morning.
The Xpress outshot the Wolves by a 47-22 edge Monday.
Ty Rickabaugh tied the game at 1-1 from Michael Lamison at 17:17 and then Reginald Hunter tallied for Tristan Mock and Restle at 19:29 to put the Xpress ahead, 2-1, after the first period.
Nick Wilcox made it 3-1 off of assists from Mock and Grant at 8:39 followed by Restle scoring from Stuart Pearson and Mock at 10:27. Joey Gerace made it 5-1 in favor of Xpress with a goal at 15:42 from Jacob Zwieg and Wilcox.
The Xpress added their final goal at 3:48 of the third period when Payne connected from Rickabaugh.
Brandon Heacock made 20 saves for the Xpress while Henry Baribeau was busy with 41 stops for the Wolves.
