Xpress Suffer OT Loss To Pittsburgh

Cam Williams scored from Austin Martz and James Unger on a power play just 40 seconds into overtime as the Pittsburgh Vengeance (14-7-1) edged the Southern Tier Xpress (7-10-2), 2-1, in the NA3HL on Saturday night at the Northwest Arena.

After a scoreless first period, Luke Grossman put the Xpress ahead, 1-0, at 6:07 of the second period on assists from Jacob Zwieg and Jacob St. Andre.

Before the end of the period, Martz tied it at 1-1 on an assist from Unger at 11:58.

The score stayed that way until the first minute of overtime when Martz sent the hometown crowd away unhappy.

Ryan Pascarella was busy with 41 saves for the Xpress while Joel DeSimone made 24 saves in the victory.

The teams meet again in Pittsburgh at 11:45 a.m. today at the Alpha Complex.
